black VS color - what do you think?

We have this GORGEOUS scroll detailed bedroom set in black
that I LOVE.

The bed is raised so high that I actually have to do a little hop
to get up into it.

At the time we purchased the set, black was the trend.  It still is.
But I'm thinking of maybe changing the color?
I was thinking...
A shabby antique white?
Or pale turquoise?
Black lacquer?
Hmm...how about yellow lacquer?
Naaww... too bold for me.

I want to know what you would do with it.
Leave it black?  Or add paint?

Those are both gorgeous pieces!!! I'd paint them! Maybe a turquoise? Either way, they'll be beautiful.
You should link up with me for What would you do with... (on Mondays)!!

Oooooo..... maybe you should just send them to me and call it a day! ;o)
Your set is sooooo beautiful! I would leave it just the way it is... but that could just be because I am partial to black furniture. We just recently purchased a 'new to us' pine colour sleigh bed which I plan on painting -- black!
Throw some colour punches in your room with art work or pillows or vases...

I LOOOOVVVEE black furniture! The finish is beautiful. If you paint them, they may chip and peel. Go classic http://www.horchow.com/ (maybe you'll win the $5k givaway!)or lively (think Jennifer Paganelli) and use billowy white curtains. Whatever you do, have fun creating! <3 you!!!!!!

I'm on a roll! How about a black and white toile such as this one http://www.horchow.com/store/catalog/prod.jhtml?itemId=cprod78690054&parentId=cat11950748&masterId=cat000074&index=24&cmCat=cat000000cat000072cat000074cat11950748 and add color with pillows and a throw, etc! I really like this one! http://www.horchow.com/store/catalog/prod.jhtml?itemId=cprod80590088&parentId=cat11950748&masterId=cat000074&index=29&cmCat=cat000000cat000072cat000074cat11950748 These are quite expensive but you can shop Marshalls or TJ Maxx and look for similar items. Enjoy
